They flattened themselves against the wall and listened.  It sounded like Fudge and Snape.  ... [Harry] caught a glimpse of Snape's smirk as he and Fudge passed [their] hiding place.  (pgs 416-7, US)

Once again Hermione gets cut out of a scene she ought to be in.  Very sorry... but there definitely isn't room on this page to fit her in at the last minute.

This isn't quite how I picture Fudge, but I realized after drawing it that it is a passable caricature of Rex Mottram from Brideshead Revisited.

Dumbledore backed out of the room, closed the door, and took out his wand to magically lock it.  Panicking, Harry and Hermione ran forward.  Dumbledore looked up, and a wide smile appeared under the long silver mustache.  "Well?" he said quietly.
"We did it!" said Harry breathlessly.  "Sirius has gone, on Buckbeak."
(pg 418, US)

Hermione is starting to look disturbingly like Girl Hogarth.  Not good.

I like Dumbledore here... he's got that whole... Dumbledore thing going on.

...they heard a distant roar of fury echoing from somewhere above them. . . . (pg 418, US)

I don't know why I put Madam Pomfrey in a nurse's hat or gave her giant hands, but ... oh well.  I'm actually quite pleased with the angle on this; it translated the thumbnail pretty well.

Madam Pomfrey and her "boulder" of chocolate... though it's not so big in this picture.  Maybe this is all that's left after a dementor-filled year.

Dumbledore alone looked calm.  Indeed, he looked as though he was quite enjoying himself.  Fudge appeared angry.  But Snape was beside himself.
"OUT WITH IT, POTTER!" he bellowed.  "WHAT DID YOU DO?"
(pg.419, US)

This one took a deceptively long time to get right, and this pose doesn't follow my original thumbnail at all.  But ... it works.

Snape is so much fun when he talks in all capitals...
